The 1966/7 Wallabies held a reunion in Gundagai in September, starting in Jim Lenehan's woolshed, and carrying on to Jim Miller's homestead, all MC'd by team mate Dick Marks. This was the 5th side to tour the British Isles, and the first to beat Wales.
The event marked the 50th anniversary of their Wallaby tour of the British Isles, France and Canada, and was held in the country to recapture something of the touring spirit of their younger days. The side included greats of the game like Ken Catchpole, Rob Heming, Jim Lenehan and Jules Guerasimoff who all attended. Skipper John Thornett was too ill to attend. He considered that whilst this team had mixed results on tour, sometimes they were “the best ever”. MORE
